CHEMICALLY MODIFIED POLYNUCLEOTIDES AND ITS PRODUCTION PROCESS

INTRODUÇÃO
Adipose mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) are promising tools for clinical applications in cellular and regeneration therapies, in light of easiness of extraction and high amount of isolated stem cells per mass of tissue. The present invention belongs to the field of compounds and preparations containing active organic ingredients and refers to the in vitro selection of a family of 32 aptamers and their specific binding to the cell surface of MSC. The invention consists of a new and effective class of therapeutic molecules capable of identifying and isolating stem cells from adipose tissue, such as human liposuction.

APLICAÇÕES E PÚBLICO ALVO

The invention has applications in several fields related to health, personal care and biomedicine, for instance: any process that involves the identification, purification and concentration of mesenchymal stem cells, including, but not limited to, its use as a reagent in pharmacological, cytomic, and diagnostic tests; and as a high-affinity ligand for enriching cells for subsequent therapeutic applications, in particular regenerative therapy in bone diseases, arteriosclerosis, cardiovascular or cerebral ischemia. The compounds can also be used for transplantation in neurodegenerative diseases, e.g., Parkinson’s disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

Additionally, this invention makes up for a lack of prior art regarding an unique specific binding molecule, which can substitute a substitute panels of antibodies for exogenous cell identification and purification processes, in the case of mesenchymal stem cells from adipose tissue. Chemical modifications for aptamer stabilization in biological fluids grant high market application and low competition to the aforementioned technology.
